A Note from the Atelier

I didn't set out to build a collection around a city. I set out to build clothes I wanted to own, and it was only once they existed, laid out together for the first time, that I understood where they'd come from.

Montréal is a city of layers that don't quite agree with each other and somehow never argue: French and English in the same sentence, stone from the 1700s next to glass from last year, a winter that arrives with real intent and a population that dresses for it without ever looking like they're trying. I spent a week there with nothing to do but walk, and I noticed the city changes its clothes twice a day. The morning is all business and cold light. The night is something else entirely, quieter, less explained, the part of the week nobody photographs.

That's the collection. Fourteen pieces for seven days, two for each: one for the walk, the errands, the daylight that means nothing needs proving; one for whatever the night decides to be. Each built the way a Montrealer builds a week: with intention, without noise. A coat that means it. A jacket cut soft enough to forget you're wearing it. Nothing that needs explaining at a dinner table, and nothing that needs explaining after it either.

We called it Une Semaine à Montréal because that's exactly what it is: one week, in one city, worn properly, day and night. I hope it feels like that when it arrives.
